Why are regular dental check-ups important?

Many patients are often unaware of their oral health problems and it is only during dental check-ups that certain issues are identified and treated. Regular dental check-ups can help in the prevention of issues such as tooth decay, gum disease and dental infection, by giving our dental team the chance to spot early warning signs. It also allows us to check for signs of oral cancer.

Hygienist visits
Dental hygiene visits and a thorough professional clean can enhance the health of your mouth by removing traces of plaque and food debris to decrease the risk of tooth decay and infection.

Gum disease and infection
Gum disease and infection can cause damage to the mouth if left untreated. If caught early they can be successfully treated with periodontal cleaning and root canal procedures.

Fillings
A filling will provide a protective layer and prevent the development of tooth infection, decay and abscesses. For optimum smile aesthetics, we use tooth coloured composite fillings.

Root canal treatment
Root canal treatment is used when the dental chamber found within the middle of the tooth becomes infected. The treatment cleans away infection and the tooth can then be filled, sealed and secured with a dental crown.
